Dr. Gani Akorede Alabi is a Consultant Community Physician, Public Health Consultant, Medical Educator, Project/Program Manager and Human Resource for Health Specialist.
He has a long-term and vast experience in the prevention, control and management of communicable (TB, HIV, Leprosy etc.) & non-communicable diseases; health services administration/management; health system strengthening and human resource for health training/management spanning over 30 years and in different African countries, notably Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, <strong>Nigeria</strong>, Sierra Leone, Swaziland, The Gambia and Uganda. He is also a trained medical educator/facilitator. He has also, as head of institution, been involved in training and research at the National TB and Leprosy Training Centre, Zaria, Nigeria in collaboration with Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. In addition, he was a lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo College of Health Sciences and the Teaching Hospital and headed the School of Health Technology in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria for training of middle-level health manpower.
He has international working experience with international NGOs like Netherlands Leprosy Relief Association (1994-1999), German Leprosy & TB Relief Association (1999-2004), World Health Organization (2004 to 2012), Partners in Health (2012 – September 2015) and University Research Co. LLC (September 2015-April 2017) as a consultant. He has a sound knowledge of health systems of the African countries and a very good professional working relationship with the health officials at central, regional and district levels as well the development partners (NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, and Bilateral & Multilateral Agencies) in several African countries.
